I’d love to hear a update on these to see how they held up over time.
The powerblock set that equals the weight of these is about twice as much with no stand. But, I hear the quality is great.
No way I’ll go near the bowflex as I could get a old jeep cj5 or a new AR-15 for the same price. It’s ridiculous. But, I hear the quality is good.
Thoughts on how they are one year later?

GREAT question, After a year they are even better than when they were new. They are very solid and I’ve had abosolutly no issues with them once I broke them in. I see so many similar units at several times the price.

Thank you for this wonderful review. I just bought a set, and got very frustrated last night because of the sticking. I thought to take them back and get regular dumbells. But now that I’ve seen your review, I’m going to give them a chance to “break in”. Thanks again. Steve

Keep them and you will be so glad that you did. They are awesome once they are broken in.

Thank you P90XBringit. You’ve done a good thing here. BTW, I’m on day five of the program, did legs/back today. Wow. This is unreal! I take it you’re a P90X grad – I have all the respect in the world for anyone who’s done it. Thanks again – Steve

Hey I’m very interested in these. One question though, would you recommend them for use with pushups as in

So you don’t think the plates are going to slip out if I put pressure on them?

No, Not worried about that – I WAS at first but once they are locked in they are there to stay

The same set sells at COSTCO for $290., under the EPIC brand. I sprayed the tray with a dry powder lubricant, very little sticking on day 1. I’ve only used this twice, but really like how fast you can change the weight settings, feels good in the hands, nice quality.

the “ridges” or tabs on the underside of my bars have begun to snap off. These tabs keep the outer most plates in place when lifted. With these gone, the plates fall off. Now I can only use the set as a 50lbs or less than thirty. The tabs that are broken off the bottom are plastic. Anyone know where I can get a new part or contact information for the company? Before this problem they were awesome but I only used them for about 2 months before this problem.

Sorry to hear that. Mine still is like new after 2 years. I would search the internet and look for the company – Don’t waste any time since they may be going out of production.
